G80 has been out for less then twenty four hours and we checked the usual suspects and figured out that there is still a healthy stock of the cards. One of the reason is the resistor-fixed cards are slowly making an entrance. The second reason is its high price.
You can buy a GTX card in EU retail for about $629 - or more. If you live in Austria, the land of 20 per cent VAT you need to pay $650+.
When it comes to availability, the GTS is a winner as almost every retailer/etailer has a card or a few in. You need to pay around $500 - a lot more than $450 price that Nvidia quoted for its USA retail price. Well they are ripping us off and they enjoy the weak dollar.
And links to feed your mind or to make a buy are here or here for the GTS.
In the UK, Dabs is selling the card from XFX and have the GTX in stock for £439.99 inc vat. You can check it here. A second resource is Overclockers UK but they will want more money, a whopping £493.49 including VAT at 17.5% for a BFG 8800 GTX card. It is still available. Ebuyer has the cards on preorder for slightly less than OcUK. Dabs is the winner here.
Our beloved USA etailer that has to do something with eggs has a bunch of 8800 GTS cards for $499.99. You can buy them here. Or the GTX cards for 659.99 here.
Go get 'em tiger. Or hand over $1500 and buy two GTXes and a new board and you are ready for rock and roll, SLI-stylee.
