Although Michael Dell shook hands with AMD's CEO Hector Ruiz in a morning keynote speech, his own keynote didn't go smoothly.
When introducing the Dell PowerEdge 6950 and SC1435, Michael Dell said: "...the Dell PowerEdge 6950, which is a four-socket platform, is based on AMD's latest microprocessor family, the Santa Rosa platform, the Socket F platform."
Since the keynote continued mentioning features which aren't inside Intel's mobile platform for 2007, we conclude that this should be classified as a keynote "oops-a-daisy".
With Chipzilla spending $300 million on marketing for Centrino Pro, it is little wonder that Dell's chairman of the board mistook a server class chipset for Santa Rosa.
Santa Rosa does not have any of the features Dell mentioned.
